How to create a dynamic code

Create an account, design the code, print it. The target stays in your hands.

    Create an account

    With email or Google. The account costs nothing.

    Choose the content

    A link, a page with text or an image, or a contact page. You can switch the type later.

    Design and print

    The same design options as in the generator, with logo and frame. Plus PNG, SVG and a print PDF in CMYK.

    Change the target

    Under “My codes” you enter a new target. Right after that, every scan goes there.

What the short link gives you

The code only holds the short link, such as qr.bequ.io/your-code. The part after qr.bequ.io/ is the short code. Everything else lives in your account.

  • A small code

    With a short code of up to 7 characters the QR code has 25 × 25 modules at error correction M, the usual level. Modules are the small dots that make up the code. For a 20 cm distance 2.5 cm is enough, even with a long target.

  • Statistics

    Scans per day, countries, devices and browsers. We only store shortened IP addresses.

  • In the free account

    Every code is active for 7 days from creation, then paused. Its short code and content stay, and with a paid plan the same code works again right away.

Common mistakes

  • Deleting instead of changing

    A deleted code is switched off at once, and printed copies then only show a notice. For a new target, change the target instead.

  • Not testing the target

    Scan the code yourself after every change. The scan counts in your statistics.

  • A static code for changing targets

    A static code always leads to the same address. For promotions, seasonal menus or a move, a dynamic code keeps you flexible.

  • Overlooking the free period

    In the free account a code pauses after 7 days. You get an email two days before; for long-lived print, choose a plan in good time.
